Before we pack our bags and head out, please read through these Terms & Conditions carefully. By booking a tour with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Contract & Booking

• Your Contract: A contract is formed between you (the Client) and Scenic Tour & Travels once we receive your initial deposit and issue a written booking confirmation.

• Accuracy of Information: You are responsible for ensuring that all names, dates, and travel details provided at the time of booking are accurate and match your passport.

2. Payments & Pricing

• Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total tour cost is required to secure your booking.

• Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid no later than 45 days prior to the tour departure date. If the balance is not received on time, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and retain the deposit.

• Currency: All prices are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include the 15% New Zealand Goods and Services Tax (GST).

3. Cancellations & Refunds

If you need to cancel your tour, you must notify us in writing. Cancellations are subject to the following fees based on when we receive your notice:

44 to 30 days	50% of the total tour price
29 to 15 days	75% of the total tour price
14 days or less / No-show	100% of the total tour price

Note: No refunds will be provided for unused accommodation, activities, transport, or meals once the tour has commenced.

4. Changes by Us

While we always aim to deliver itineraries exactly as planned, New Zealand’s unpredictable weather and natural environment mean we must remain flexible.

• We reserve the right to alter routes, accommodation, or activities due to weather, road closures, or safety concerns.

• If a major activity is canceled by the vendor (e.g., a helicopter flight due to weather), we will attempt to book an alternative or provide a refund for that specific activity.

5. Travel Insurance (Highly Recommended)

We strongly advise all travelers to purchase comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. Your policy should cover:

• Trip cancellation and interruption.

• Medical expenses and emergency evacuation.

• Loss or damage of personal baggage and belongings.

• Adventure activities (e.g., bungy jumping, jet boating) if you plan to partake.

6. Passports, Visas, & NZETA

• You must hold a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining beyond your intended departure date from New Zealand.

• It is your sole responsibility to obtain the correct visa or New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) and pay the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) before arriving.

7. Health, Fitness, & Safety

• Our tours involve varying levels of physical activity (e.g., walking, hiking). You must notify us of any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations before booking.

• Safety First: You must follow the safety instructions of our guides and local operators at all times. We reserve the right to exclude any participant from an activity if their health or behavior compromises the safety of themselves or the group.

8. Liability Limitation

• Scenic Tour & Travels acts as an agent for third-party service providers (airlines, hotels, transport companies, activity operators). We are not liable for any injury, damage, loss, delay, or irregularity caused by these independent providers.

• To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, our liability is limited to the total amount paid by you for the tour.

9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from your booking will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
